In a media landscape dominated by social media and streaming because of quarantine, it only takes one big role for up-and-comers to become overnight sensations.

For Millennials and Gen Zers, this sudden ascent includes watching their social following quickly grow from a few thousand to millions of people anticipating their next posts.

TMA tracks social trends, film releases, and buzzy shows to predict which new talent will become big names.

Check out some of the people and shows on our radar.

Locke & Key is a supernatural horror series based on a comic book series of the same name. It premiered on Netflix at the beginning of February. The series is about three children who move to Massachusetts after their father’s murdered and their new residence has a number of mysterious keys throughout that can be used to unlock doors in supernatural ways. However, they quickly become aware of a demonic entity that is also searching for the keys.

Featuring new comers Connor Jessup, Emilia Jones, Petrice Jones, and Laysla de Oliveira, and veteran actress Asha Bromfield in what could be her big break, the series came out about a month ago and we have already seen some of the casts’ following double. USA Today claimed the show was “nearly as strong a debut as Stranger Things in 2016.” While it hasn’t been picked up for a second season yet, writing has already begun ahead of the series’ first-season premiere.
