TMA Scores Four Ex Awards, Including Grand Ex

Last night, The Marketing Arm brought home four awards at the 2018 Ex Awards at Warfield Theater in San Francisco. Presented by Event Marketer, the Ex Awards are the largest recognition program for best-in-class experiential marketing. TMA was named Ex Winner in three categories for our State Farm and Frito-Lay clients and awarded the Grand Ex for State Farm.


Here’s a look at our winning programs…


Neighborhood of Good

State Farm Neighborhood of Good was named Ex Winner for Best Cause/Community Program and took home the highest honor of the night, the Grand Ex.

Neighborhood of Good was made to close the gap between intention and action. Through strategic tactics aligned with key moments (May Hunger Awareness Month, music festivals, and National Good Neighbor Day), State Farm was able to create awareness for local causes, recruit volunteers, and turn caring into doing.

“State Farm’s Neighborhood of Good program proved that cause marketing activations can be powerful platforms for generating awareness and inspiring consumers to take action,” says Event Marketer magazine Content Director Jessica Heasley. “The campaign will transform the way marketers think about events and live experiences and how they can illuminate a brand’s corporate and social values in ways that are real and authentic.”


Color Full Lives

State Farm Color Full Lives was named the Ex Winner for Best Multicultural Event Campaign. Color Full Lives celebrated the multifaceted lives of African American women and the financial goals that they hope to achieve. The campaign came to life at Essence Festival, through media on, and custom content featuring African American women chasing their dreams and “living their most Color Full Lives.” 



The Spotted Cheetah

TMA and Frito-Lay came out on top as the Ex Winner in the Best Pop-Up or Retail Activation for The Spotted Cheetah. For this program, we launched the world’s first and only all-Cheetos, fully immersive pop-up restaurant. The Spotted Cheetah opened in Tribeca during NYC Restaurant Week to serve fans an unexpected Cheetos-infused menu. This quirky, yet classy, restaurant was designed to delight fans’ dangerously cheesy appetites.
