Humans of TMA is a content series in partnership with Discover_TMA that showcases the diverse, interesting, and creative people that make up The Marketing Arm.
Let’s get to know Cory…
What is one thing you wish more people knew about you? That I hate being wet, it’s either swimming or bathing, every other time I have to be dry.
What is your guilty pleasure? Flea Market Flip!
What’s your hobby or passion project outside of TMA? Just started trying my hand at restoring and repurposing furniture.
What’s one professional skill you’re currently working on? Spelling… been working on it my entire life!
What’s the best advice you were ever given? Who was it from? “Be yourself, it’s just too hard to try and be someone you’re not.” – A former boss
What’s your favorite way to unwind after a busy day? Sitting down for dinner with my family, and then reruns and a drink. “Friends,” “Modern Family,” doesn’t really matter.
What three words would your closest friends use to describe you? Authentic, Compassionate, Funny.
What’s a trip that changed you and why? England. It was my daughter’s and my first time together in another country, and seeing it through her eyes and her excitement changed how I approached travel.
What led you to this career/industry? Kind of by accident. I was client side for 10 years and went agency side instead of moving south with my company. My wife said she wasn’t going to move. Best decision she ever made for me!
If you could trade places for a day with anyone who would you choose and why? That’s a tough one. There are so many people! I don’t think I’d go for a politician, I don’t think the changes we need could be accomplished in a day; so I’d have to go for an astronaut up on the International Space Station. I’d love to see the Earth from space first-hand.
What trend do you hope makes a comeback? Conversation!
Favorite form of live entertainment? Live music you can dance too.
QUICK HITS…
What are you watching? Just finished binging “The Crown,” 30 episodes in three days over the holiday break, just started “The Witcher.”
What are you reading? On an autobiography kick right now. Just finished Elvis Duran’s “Where do I Begin” and “Becoming” by Michelle Obama.
What are you listening to? Mobituaries: from Mo Rocco. People, places, things, TV shows, and more! Anyone who has any kind of interest in any kind of history will geek out on this.
Who are you following? I am all over the place…Ragu, Bertolli, TMA, History Photographed, Time Out New York, Andy Cohen, Snookie, UDel, Fordham, and both Paul Brothers.
What trip are you planning? VEGAS BABY!
What are you ignoring? Doctors and gyms.
